Well, as we have been doing this, some of my students have expressed an interest in just being able to say, "Hi," and comment about anything without having to direct the comment to a specific post, so I've decided to leave this space available for "shout-outs." ReplyDeleteGreat question about the backpack. I suppose you could take one, but most people do not take something that large. If you have something smaller than a backpack, that would be perfect. I mean, you're not taking snacks or a change of clothes or your pet monkey or anything. Just a little cash for the gift shop and something to keep you entertained on the bus. That's pretty much it. well theres finally nothing to do so I decided to get on this blog. I bet i'll be on this blog a lot when summer vacation gets here. I don't wait really exited for summer vacation to come because there really isn't much to do over summer vacation. There is some stuff to do not like i'm bored trough my summer bacation. This has been a good school year for me and thats every year I make friends and have a good time at school. So thas the reason I really don't get exited and all that about summer bacation. I guess Mr. Butler did a good job making the student shout outs becaus this is a good place to write coments and you can tell that because of all the stuff i've written. well I guess this is the end.

Sounds like y'all had fun, Kasandra. I was actually flying on July 4. I got to see the fireworks over Washington D.C. from the air as my plane took off. It was a pretty special moment. It reminded me of how proud I am to live in the USA. You're actually not the only one writing. GhostRider left a post on the Book Discussions page. It sounds like he's found a new book he likes. Hey, Kasandra, do you know what? After I got back from Spain I had a chance to check out your Webspiration web. It was really cool! I'll have to show it to Mrs. Jones as well. She'll like it, I'm sure. I tried to look at it from Spain, but for some reason the website wouldn't let me in. I think it was because I was trying to access it from outside the country. Anyway, it looks awesome, and I'm proud of you for continuing to use that tool outside of class. You can still use your account this year, and who knows? It might help you organize compositions or projects at your new school! Keep up the good work! :-)

Hey, Rose, it's good to hear from you. Sorry to hear your vacation has been boring up to now, but give it a chance. You have the whole summer ahead of you. :-) As for me, I'm relaxing a little right now and watching the Rangers game on TV. Today was kind of a weird day, being at school all day but not seeing any of you all. I had a list of things I had to do before I could check out for the summer. Fortunately, I got all of them done. Most of us were there all day. The rest of the week, we're at workshops over at Legacy High School, and then summer can REALLY begin! I think I'm going to take my family to Hawaiian Falls this summer. That was such a fun day when we went. No, the Rangers didn't win last night, but they did tonight, 7-1. Glad your vacation is a little bit better now. Today the 4th grade teachers went to eat lunch at that place that used to be Chicken Red's. Now it's a Japanese restaurant. It was expensive, but the food was great, and it was pretty cool to watch the cook prepare the food right in front of you.

At the restaurant we had fried rice, soup, vegetables, and some kind of meat. We all got something different and then shared. Mrs. Broussard got shrimp, I got steak, Mrs. Coker got scallops, Mrs. Nelson got chicken, and Mrs. Bond ordered salmon. Mrs. Jones didn't go. Yesterday we went to On The Border. Yes, Rose, I did see the World Cup final. I had hoped that the Netherlands would win, but Spain really was the best team and deserved to win, so congratulations to them. As far as what I've been doing, well my son finished his swimming lessons yesterday, and we celebrated my daughter's birthday on Saturday. With all of the rain, it hasn't been easy to do anything outside for a while. Yesterday we went to the Fort Worth Stockyards and watched the cattle drive there. I'm going to spend most of today ironing clothes. Sounds like fun, huh? (NOT!) Glad you're doing well. Talk to you later!

Yeah, Rose, we're looking forward to having the World Cup back on this side of the Atlantic Ocean. Our daughter just turned two. I think we'll go ride the miniature train in Fort Worth today. Hope you have a great one!

ReplyDeleteHey, Rose, sorry it took me so long to get your comment posted. To answer your question about the train, it goes through Trinity Park. It starts just north of the zoo and goes north through the park to the duck pond south of 7th Street, then turns around and heads back. It stops once on the way back for you to buy snacks if you want. The whole trip takes about 40 minutes. At one time, it was the longest miniature train ride in the world, but not anymore. The cost is $2.50 for kids, $3.00 for adults, and they're closed on Mondays. If you wanted to, you could get off in the park and play at the playground or have a picnic or whatever, and then when you're ready to go back to your car just wait for the next train to take you back.

We've been visiting family and they didn't have Internet. You asked about whether there was something new at Hawaiian Falls. They have the Torpedo, but I didn't go on it. My son seemed to want to spend most of his time in the lazy river. :-) Hope you've been doing well and are enjoying what's left of your summer. It's hard to believe that there are only two weeks left.

Make sure you type it carefully. It's not just "mathdictionary." There's an "a" before the word math and an "s" after the word math. If that site isn't really what you're looking for, you can always Google "math definitions." Hope that helps, and good luck!

ReplyDeletehey , mr.butler i was hello kitty ... how is your year mine is great guess what my social studies teacher of 5 th has a ginniepig and you get to have it in ur desk and play with it and you ask youre parents for permission and you can take it home !! her name is zooey and also....we had a boston tea party like is what we are learning about and its kind of hard but also we did this activity where they give you one cup of m&ms and king george tells you the cost of something with taxes but at the end you can eat them!!!

The 4th grade teachers are having a game night party later this week, but other than that, it's just relaxing and eating here. :-) I'm not ready to go back to school yet, but by Sunday I'm sure I will be. :-) Have a great spring and stay in touch!

ReplyDeleteHi mr.Butler do you remmember me .Well umm i just wanted to say hi. It's been great this year in 5Th grade . our first field trip was to the zoo but we had a little booklet where we had to write notes and it was for a grade . we had to basicly write about animal adaptations and their habitats . bt too bad we have not gone to other field trips and in science we are planting seeds and in math the teacher is basicly going thru the things we need to know for the taks math. my soscial studies teacher has a guinapig. in science we also learned about the moon phases .and the science teacher had told us yeatarday that some volcanolagist where going to go into a volcano to see how they erupt that is pretty awesome well gtg.:) :) xd and today in technolagy we had to do a powerpoint and present it to our class my next exploratory is art .. next year im going to enter Band and im for sure going to play the.. CLARINET in fact i already bought the clarinet

Do you know what? I started band in 6th grade, too, and I also played clarinet! It's a pretty easy instrument to play. You'll enjoy it, even if you do start out with a lot of squeaks! :-) Rose, I like that confidence! I know you'll do awesome today and tomorrow!
